CILEx fellows who wish to become lawyers are often exempted from following the two-year training contract and part of the academic qualification phase, allowing direct entry into the legal practice course without the need for a CPE/GDL refresher course. Competition Executive Legal Assistant The candidate will prepare correspondence and legal documents. Checks and tracks all incoming/outgoing email correspondence. Coordinate travel, conferences, conference calls and meetings. Open, close and maintain files and communicate with clients and other lawyers about the progress of files. Manage and monitor CPD accreditation. Manage administrative tasks related to accounting, accounting and invoicing. Should have 3+ years of experience in a wider business environment. Strong MS Office skills (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint) are required. Legal Executive Assistant – Litigation The candidate is responsible for providing specialized administrative and secretarial support to assigned lawyers/legal staff with respect to all aspects of litigation. The task involves the production of complex multitasking documents with heavy administrative functions and customer contact that require a high level of technical and secretarial skills.

Generate new files and maintain customer, chronic, and general files to ensure the submission is kept up to date. Prepare the files to close by using the appropriate procedures to store the records. Perform a regular scan of inactive files for possible file storage. Maintain a list of client and business names and numbers for each lawyer/legal staff member. Organize trips, prepare itineraries and compile documents for travel-related meetings. Maintain knowledge of operational procedures, departments and areas of support of the company. If necessary, create monthly expense reports for each lawyer/legal staff.
Accounting for transfers for processing. Prepare and maintain administrative instructions regarding each assigned lawyer/legal staff. If necessary, prepare and process customer invoicing using Firm invoicing software. Should be able to compile and analyze data and provide information in the form of a report, written correspondence, email or verbally.
Must have analytical and technical skills that require detail, accuracy and logic to perform essential administrative/bureaucratic functions and use business software. Executive Legal Assistant The candidate must have 7 years of experience in the legal field in support of the responsible partner or managing partner. Intensive administrative tasks, thorough planning of all appointments and meetings, customer contact, preparation of internal and external board meetings and client meetings, itineraries, trips and community activities. Must be assertive and confident with a proactive work style aligned with schedules and preparation of files prior to meetings. Exceptional secretarial skills, 65+wpm typing, drawing and proofreading are required. Executive Legal Assistant The candidate will provide administrative support to lawyers and paralegals as well as the legal department. Is responsible for maintaining electronic filling systems, updating reference documents, and coordinating meetings using Microsoft Outlook. Make PowerPoint presentations, maintain file costs by reviewing outstanding balances with lawyers and suppliers, and help develop cases by staying in touch with those involved in the case.
