I am Teresa Sutherland, Co-Director and Principal of West Coast Legal, one of Perth`s leading family law firms. I have a Bachelor of Laws from South Africa and was admitted to the Supreme Court of Western Australia in February 2016 after completing my equivalent Bachelor of Laws studies at Edith Cowan University. I joined West Coast Legal in February 2016. Since my admission, I have worked exclusively in family law and have gained extensive experience in all areas of family law, with a particular interest in simple and complex property settlement issues. I am passionate about solving my clients` business in a supportive and collaborative manner to ensure effectiveness and efficiency. Family law can be stressful and that`s why I believe in partnering with my client to solve their problem with compassion and care.
I focus on mediation rather than litigation because it`s cheaper and less stressful. However, if a question requires it and requires the intervention of the Court, I will assist you. In my spare time, I enjoy volunteering and giving back to the community and spending time with family, friends and my Labrador Bailey. We negotiate with both parties to avoid costly litigation and provide you with a better outcome. I`m Tannis Arnold, Co-Director and Founder of West Coast Legal, a family law firm based in Perth. I received a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Notre Dame in Western Australia. I also worked for Legal Aid Western Australia and completed a legal internship with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions. Before working as a lawyer, I worked with families and children in the education sector. I have a diploma in teacher training and a bachelor`s degree in education. This expertise complements my skills in the field of family law. I have experience in matters ranging from complex property arrangements for married and common-law couples, to child custody proceedings, divorce and alimony matters. When I`m not working, I have to promote justice in the community by volunteering and spending time with my family.
